Privacy Policy

Effective: July 6, 2026

1. What we collect. NightlyBooks reads accounting data (transactions, vendors, accounts) from the connected QuickBooks Online company and imports bank statement files supplied by the owner.
2. Where it lives. All data is stored locally on the owner-operator's own computer. There is no cloud storage, no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising.
3. Third-party processing. Transaction details (description, amount, date, payee) may be sent to the Anthropic Claude API solely to generate categorization suggestions. This data is not used to train models. No credentials or tokens are ever sent to any third party.
4. No sharing or sale. Data is never sold, shared, or disclosed to anyone other than the owner-operator.
5. OAuth tokens. QuickBooks tokens are stored encrypted on the owner's machine with restricted file permissions and can be revoked at any time from the Intuit account settings.
